Mix-a Mix-a, Shake-a Shake

Yup, that's me alright! Mixed emotions and moving jitters. We're down to our last boxes, and FULL of excitement, but I still am feeling, well, I'm not sure. Weird. Happy to be going to see my family and friends in Germany, sad to be leaving my friends here, happy, sad, happy, sad.... ugg! Like previously posted many times before, I am never satisfied! I've always got a few feelings going both ways. :-s Though, my feelings in this situations are more leaning towards the happy side. But there's still so much to do and worry about. Last minute packing (because really? Is there any OTHER way for me than last minute?), saying goodbye for (hopefully not really!) the last time to the great people we've met over here. Running like crazy to get the things from here we want (YESSSS! We got our rug, and one for my mom, and one for our friend! That is a HUGE relief!) I'm sure anyone who's reading this has moved many many times, and internationaly, too! So, what I'm saying is nothing new. Just, BLAH!

But, the amazing reward that I'll get in just a couple days is being back where there's green, soft places for the kids to run, a pleasant change of environment and scenery, and especially our much missed friends and family! So I'm a holdin' on!

A Kuwaiti Dhow, an ancient fishing boat.

The "Boneyard" out in the desert. A big junkyard with cars, tanks, buses, and more.

Salmiya Mosque, across the street from our house

Camels along the highway on the way to Saudi Arabia
Kuwait City, with a view of the Liberation Tower

Sandstorm, with Kuwaiti flags blowing in the sandy breeze

A family day at Marina Beach, Salmiya Kuwait

An approaching sandstormKuwait, a place of beauty, pride and tradition.

We'll be glad to have you back in Germany, even if it's only a month.

I know how you feel Sasha!! I couldn't wait to get back to the States, but hated the thought of leaving friends. It is so exciting to move on to something new, but you always have that bit of regret when you think about friends or the things you loved to do in the old place. Long distance friendships just aren't the same. I long for Germany some days, and a mocha from sigafreddo(spelling?).
